(BISS CH. Daragoj Matter of Time x CH. Talbot Hill’s Secret Garden 13″)
#2 15″ Beagle in the US (all systems) – 2008
2010 National Beagle Club Specialty – Select Dog
Whelped: 7/28/2006 Height: 14.375″
Herbie’s sire was a multiple specialty winner and his dam is a multiple specialty 13″ BOV. Her littermate, 13″ CH Talbot Hill’s I’ve Got A Secret, “Katie Berk”, is the dam of Danter Beagles well-known, “Wesley” and “Greta”. Herbie’s pedigree can be found below.
Herbie’s dark eyes and soft expression are typically seen in his get. His moderate size and stature have enabled him to reduce size and add a touch of elegance where those traits are wanting. Although lightly used at stud, Herbie has contributed to pedigrees from British Columbia to Buenos Aires and throughout Europe. At 11 1/2 years of age, he is still siring litters by natural cover.
In Denmark, Herbie sired a litter for Skansehoj Beagles that produced three significant sons:
2010 #2 Show Dog in Romania, CH. Skansehoj’s Darwin
Herbie’s son, Talbot Hill Lemon Thyme (out of CH. Talbot Hill’s Razzle Dazzle – 2006 NBC 13″ BOW/BBE), is the sire of:
BIS/BISS CH MG Carlos Gardel – 2015 Mexican National Specialty Winner, he is the sire of
CH MG Lisboa – 2016 Mexican National Specialty Winner and 2016 NBC RWB, and
Multiple BIS CH Cuco (Cano)
Herbie’s son, Talbot Hill Lemon Thyme, “Tony”, is also the foundation for my partnership with Dukeang Kennel (Argentina). When German Carignano approached me to buy Herbie and then later asked to use Herbie at stud, I had another suggestion for him. His request came at a time in my life when I was unable to accommodate a visiting bitch so I recommended that he contact my friend, Mauro Martinez (MG Beagles) in Guadalajara and ask to use “Tony”, a dog that was producing well and a dog that I felt was well suited to German’s bitch. The resulting litter produced RBIS CH Dukeang Kenai and several other very nice puppies. To thank me for my recommendation, German made a gift to me, a bitch from that litter, the very pretty CH Dukeang Tiny, who produced three nice litters for Talbot Hill Dukeang. “Tiny” allowed me to restart my breeding program and Herbie has become the foundation for Dukeang.
A litter sired by Herbie out of his great-granddaughter was whelped on February 15, 2018. Click here for details.
Herbie is retired from the show ring and he is retired as a stud dog.
