A Quiet Summer

It’s been a long, dry, quiet summer at Talbot Hill. We’re short staffed at work so I’ve been working seven days a week. I’ve only been able to go to two shows this year, adding one point to Poppy‘s quest toward her CH last month and yesterday, taking my two tri-color girls out for the first time.

Roux will be six next month and I haven’t shown her for four years but with a new baby going to her first shows, it’s always good to take a buddy along. Roux’s sire is 2011 NBC Best of Breed BISS CH Shadynook McDreamy At RK Tooker and her dam is 2016 Mexican National Specialty winner and 2016 NBC 15″ RWB CH Lisboa. Roux went BOS yesterday for 5-point major toward her GCH and received some lovely comments from judge, Bill Shelton…”Beautiful bitch. Beautiful breed type”. Roux wasn’t really sure why she was there but she was pleased about the chicken that I offered her.

Roux went to the show to support our new baby, Lily, Quilcreek Talbot Hill Gilded Lily, bred by Linda Kriegel, our newest puppy by Albus, Talbot Hill Dukeang The Gilded Sage. Lily turned 4 months old this past week making her just old enough for the 4 – 6 month baby competition. She was in good company with her handsome brother, Schroeder, who went BOS to his sister. Lily not only won the variety but went on to win the 4 – 6 Month Puppy Hound Group.

Lily – 4 months

Both puppies handled the excitement of the show site beautifully and we’re excited about what the future holds for both Lily and Schroeder.

We also received exciting news from our partner, Laura Hiatt, at Matador Beagles in Texas yesterday. Caper, Talbot Hill Matador Poet’s Leap NA NF, earned her first two agility titles yesterday with the potential for more this weekend. Matador is known for their top agility beagles and Caper LOVES the agility ring. We’re all excited to see what the future holds for her. Caper’s sire is BISS CH Shadynook You Oughta Be In Pictures. Her dam is CH Talbot Hill Dukeang Pressed For Time, Olive.

News about future litters to come soon but, for now, I have to get back to work…
